Hello, Again!

It has been almost 4 months since last posting! I hope to connect with friends again. Summer passed,

Papa working over his new toy, a featherweight I  sewed on during our visit back home in Nebraska ~

"Eye of the Needle" natural rock formation,
South Dakota.
Just one of the many fun places we visited ~

Larry loves the horses~

We enjoyed the break,

school began,
Just a few of my 25 kiddos in our classroom library, first day of school photos ~

and then, I was not able to post anything because a widget took over the pokeydot blog! Naughty lil' widget!

Until I was able to get tech help, sharing was on hold. So, here are a few pictures of the creativity that continued even without posting. . . you know you don't quit making stuff when the sewing gene is in your DNA!

can hardly wait to show this progress

 a baby quilt for Kathy

This Batik braid quilt was beautiful, and remained square! I was so impressed with Donna's piecing. I quilted it with a swirl pattern ~

My sweet friend Nancy, and this lovely quilt she pieced, I quilted and bound it for her niece ~

These are two small table toppers, about 36". Same colors,  pieced by Donna, and I quilted with a beautiful variegated thread ~

Another of Kathy's that I was lucky to get to quilt. Can't remember the magazine she used, this was published this summer called "Rain Bows". The photo isn't true to color, it was stark white!

This sweet baby boy's quilt
was for My bbf's grandbaby,
Gavin. Beth did the embroidery,
I pieced and quilted it.
I can't find a finished photo!

This is Kathy, and her gift to her dd for her birthday in October. I quilted with stars,  the word "Boo" and a spiderweb here and there

While in Nebraska, I was able to visit with fellow quilter and blogger, Elaine! Sorry that this wasn't put up before now Elaine, but I sure enjoyed our little visit. Go see her quilting skills here ~

Hope to find other pictures and post them soon. Until then, good to be back!

His Sheep Am I ~

Loopy quilting with "Love" and a heart ~

Summer is finally here for Mrs. Davis the teacher! We leave tomorrow for 3 weeks in Nebraska to visit with Papa -Larry's Dad- between Larry's next semester of school and the finish of this one. Larry is in the 4.0 for his grades, btw, and I'm so very proud of him!

I have been very slow to post, such a pokey thing to do! This is the most recent finish to share, it's for Ginny B's grandson, born yesterday. Quilted with loops, words, hearts, and love ~

the back                                    piano key border with lambs added

On my last post, I shared some stars made from a charm square swap in my quilt class.

Well, with any spare sewing minute this is what is what's happening with those:

Next up for this one is a border, and I'm planning a pieced one ~

I hope you are all doing well, I do not know how much keeping up with others will happen with only an ipad, but I'm hopin' to try. I am missing my friends in the quilty web world! Hugs to you all ~

"Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His  courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations." Psalm 100

Two Quilts Off the Frame ~

 I love sewing!

 Debi's Modern Rectangles

I wanted to share the latest two finishes for this week- love the week home from school! First was Debi's Modern Rectangles Quilt for her granddaughter. It was stitched with a horizontal loopy stitch, like a water motion.

I failed to get a good picture.

Next up was this Poppies quilt by Kathy, oo-oh, I wanted to keep this one! I love poppies and red is my favorite color. M-m-m-m, yummy!

Kathy backed it with a rich blue plaid. Her thread is blue variegated, perfect ~

We had a charm swap in our quilt class this week, the theme was patriotic design. Here's what's happening with my blocks ~

On a personal note, dd Lydia is in the hospital due to an infection that she didn't get taken care of soon enough. She is healing slowly. We would appreciate your prayers. Her hospital is 25 miles away, and it looks like rehab will be even further away.

"Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."  Psalms 62:8
sigh.
